CHATROOM & GROUP ETC

So ... you want to chat to other Tony fans? Fancy a bit of a natter? Well, there are two methods you can choose:


TWEEDY BOOK GUY CHATROOM

A chatroom has been set up for fans of Tony to discuss his work, characters, etc or just to have a general chit-chat with other fans. You don't have to be a member of any groups etc. Simply come along and have a bit of a gossip, a natter and a chinwag with some like-minded people! If you are experienced with this IRC stuff then simply connect to the BLITZED server and join the #tweedybookguy room. If, like me, you are new to all this then below is a tutorial you may find useful. Please note - the tutorial has a plain, white background etc to enable you to print it that much easier!

Thanks to Numbat for the tutorial ... and for setting up the room in the first place! Say "hi" to Numbat when you join the room and, well, my nickname is either DrFrankentweed or TweedysKnickerPinger (and if you come into the room and ask nicely I'll even tell you how I ended up with these nicknames!) - please stop by and have a chat! Please note - there is no discussion of spoilers etc in the main room so you can pop in and chat without being spoiled. (See below for details of our spoilers room)

#TWEEDYBOOKGUY CHATROOM TUTORIAL

If you don't want to download new programmes etc, then there is another way for you to enter the chatroom - no new stuff needed at all. Simply pop along to BLITZED where there is a quite neat little java chat applet you can use. Simply click JAVA CHAT, then enter the nickname you would like and the room is #tweedybookguy. That's all you need to do (although you may need to scroll the screen down - the chat applet occurs right at the bottom of the page.)

Want to find out what we get up to or want to know more? Well, Numbat has set up a quite marvellous support site which will give you more help, tell you how to attach sound bites to various "actions" and even gives you the latest stats on who's in the room and when, not to mention who's the chattiest etc. You can also read transcripts of what happened in the chatroom when various bots put in appearances! Now, there is also a "Trivia-bot" in the room which is programmed with over 1000 questions concerning all things Tony. If there are a few in the room you can play as teams ... or of course you can play as individuals and compete to be the first to reach 500 points. Recently, we have set up more chatrooms for those with more specific tastes! There is #tweedy-spoilers for those of you who adore discussing the latest episodes - this room does get busy just after episodes air. The other room is one I seem to be spending a lot of time in - #tweedy-roleplay. We usually have roleplays with bots going on so feel free to bring one or two of your bots along with you and either join in or lurk around and watch for a while. Believe me, it's quite funny either way!



TWEEDY BOOK GUY YAHOO GROUP

If email is more your thing then join the "tweedybookguy" Yahoo Group! The group is not only for site updates, you can also join in discussions and chat etc about Anthony Head. All fic posted to the group (it must feature an ASH character) will be eligible for the monthly Tweedy Awards. (Fic about the bots - yes, believe it or not, people are now writing bot fic - will be entered in a separate award) We are a fairly chatty lot - at the moment we're quite easily averaging over 1500 posts a month! Feel free to advertise your own websites on the group so, don't hesitate any longer - come and join this merry band of reprobates ... you won't regret it (much)!
